The STA Series Wireless Swing Type Torque Transducer for Interchangeable-Head Torque Wrenches is a reaction-based, wireless torque measurement module integrated into the wrench body or handle area.
It accurately measures the applied torque through reaction strain generated during tightening, and transmits data wirelessly to a receiver or torque controller in real time. Unlike rotary transducers (which measure torque on a rotating shaft), the swing type captures reaction torque — the counterforce acting on the wrench handle when torque is applied — making it ideal for manual, click-type, or electronic torque wrenches equipped with interchangeable heads (open-end, ratchet, flare, or crowfoot).

This innovative design, pioneered by ZIPPTORK, transforms conventional torque wrenches into smart, traceable fastening instruments that comply with Industry 4.0 and IIoT standards.

 

Working Principle

Torque Application: When the operator applies torque to tighten a fastener, the wrench head transmits force through the swing-type sensing body.

Reaction Detection: The internal strain gauge bridge bonded to the swing body measures micro-deformation proportional to the reaction torque.

Signal Conversion: An embedded circuit board with A/D conversion filters the signal.

Wireless Transmission: The processed data is transmitted wirelessly (via RF, Bluetooth, or Zigbee) to a receiver or controller.

Data Output & Integration: Torque, angle, and time data are displayed on a digital controller or wrench display or transferred to an MES / SPC / cloud system for traceability and quality control.
