An Air Chipping Hammer is a pneumatic percussion tool designed to remove unwanted materials such as concrete, slag, rust, and weld spatter by delivering rapid, high-frequency blows through a chisel or tool bit. It operates by using compressed air to drive a piston-and-chisel mechanism, making it ideal for medium-duty demolition and surface preparation in construction, foundry, and metalworking environments. Compared to heavy breakers or rivet busters, chipping hammers are smaller, lighter, and easier to control, allowing precise material removal without damaging nearby surfaces or structures.

Working Principle

1. Air Supply: Compressed air enters the tool through an inlet valve.

2. Reciprocating Piston: Air pressure drives an internal piston forward, striking the chisel shank.

3. Percussion Impact: The chisel delivers high-speed blows (up to 3,000 bpm) to the work surface.

4. Return Stroke: Air pressure on the opposite side returns the piston for the next impact.

5. Continuous Operation: The cycle repeats as long as the trigger is pressed, providing constant chipping force.
